Hospital Packing Checklist

You are not going overseas for a year, so be critical when packing for the hospital commitment.

When committed to the hospital, there's a lot of stuff, you think you don't need, and a lot you think you do. It always seems people are quite wrong.

I've created my personal packing check list from those times, I had a choise. (When committed and picked up by ambulance, you don't get time to pack. But on the other side you're most likely not capeable anyway)

Remember the rules of what you are allowed to bring into the mental hospital, they may vary quite a bit.

My Checklist:

Clothes (for a week. I could do my own laundry in there)
Bathing sandals
Slippers
Outdoor shoes
Jacket
Socks
Underwear
Sleepwear (I wear full body underwear for skiing, since the nurses temd to you at night)
Pants
T shirts
Sweaters
(If you prefer to dress up and wear nice clothes instead of clothes for relaxation, then you just do that.)

Toilet gear
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Shampoo
Hairbrush
Deodorant
Perfume
Lotion
Hand cream
Nail clipper
If you like
Makeup
Facial products
Hair styling products
Blowdryer etc.

Medication list
Medication (hospital personnel will take  it and store it. You get it back)

Entertainment and practical stuff
Laptop
Extension cord
Phone
Charger
Headset (if you're not in a single room, don't use sound without it, it's not polite)
Movies (or internet movie stream access)
Music
Battery pack/power bank
Pen
Paper
Book
Money (coins for machines and phone in case of emergency)
Credit card

Forget about camera, I have never been allowed to use one. Most phones has a build in camera. At the Hospitals I've been committed to, we were allowed to have the phones, but strictly forbidden to take photos. They would confiscate the phone, if we broke the rules.
As you see, I don't really pack much. Crossword pussels can be found in old magazines and newspapers. Games, stuff to read, write to people... You can do all if this by the laptop.
Perhaps it's also useful for you to read a later upcoming at the blog:
